June in Pictures

I thought it would be fun to do an end of the month blog posting of pics taken with my camera phone to sum up each month.

Outside of Harrah's casino in N.O

Bacardi (a.k.a - fat boy weenie), pooped after chasing the ball outside.

An abstract painting I did for the guest bathroom

Authentic mexican grilled burittos at my favorite mexican resturant, El Paso.

A huge ass spider I saw in the bushes at the mall! Someone later told me it was a banana spider.

A typical Turkish style meal. Humus, pita, Turkish salad and cacik (pronounced: jajik).

This was so cute! he was just sitting on my dad's lap and he put himself in that "driving" positing all by himself, had to snap a pic of that!

I took this pic as I was coming down the bridge it looked even more beautiful in person.

I've been wearing these Giani Bini lace up ankle sandals a lot lately. Love them!

Spent the day downtown and went to the Riverwalk. Forgot to take a pic of the begniets at Cafe Du Monde though :(

I never knew Rockstar and Monster had coffee energy drinks. They were really good, especially the Rockstar.

My favorite food ever! I always get the same thing, tuna avocado and Salmon avocado rolls.

Volcano roll, it's basically a crunch roll with avocado slices and spicy tuna on top with spicy mayo. Yum!

Some friends and I at a house party.

I wanted a pool just to go tanning in. It's 10 feet wide and 30in deep. It's basically a large ass hot tub; at least that's what Jason and I refer to it as hehe. I actually prefer this over a larger pool because I can just sit in it and the water comes up to my shoulders :)

I took this pic when I was totally wasted on Bourbon st so it's really blurry haha. I absolutely loooove this painting though, it actually looks like there are lights built into the painting, and I love the beautiful glow on the buildings.

I saw this butterfly on the ground by my work. I thought it was dead, but it flew away when I touched it.

Some friends and I went to Zea's for lunch and drinks. I had a Bloody Mary, one of my favorite drinks day or night. Only if it's made with Zing Zang mix though! I'm sure bloody mary drinkers will agree w/ me on this one.

This is the photo I submitted to the Nivea UK photo contest. I actually won but was later disqualified b/c I'm not a UK resident (i should have read the fine print lol). They emailed me and told me that I was still the winner of that day but wasn't eligible for prizes and instead they would send me a goody bag of products as a show of goodwill. Sweet! When the package comes in I'll do a post.

What were some of your highlights in the month of June?

New Foundation's & Review - Revlon Age Defying Spa Makeup

I picked up these 2 foundations from big lots the other day. I've talked about the Almay foundation before here, but I've never tried the Revlon foundation so I thought I would give it a go.

This product comes w/ a built in foundation brush. For someone who likes to clean their brushes weekly with soap and water it totally grossed me out that I can't really clean it without possibly compromising the product. So, I did what anyone in my position would do...

I cut it off lol. I forgot to take a picture of what it looked like with out the cap on but if you look closely at the above picture you can see the attached brush.

This foundation has a twist on/off cap that is not removable. I actually really like this feature b/c I think it would be great for travel and you wouldn't have to worry about the product spilling everywhere. I also love that you can squeeze the product out; makes for very little waste. What I love most about this product is it's lightweight feel. It's kind of on the liquidy side and reminds me of a tinted moisturizer and covers like one as well. If you have problematic skin or moderate unevenness that needs to be covered than this might not be the right foundation for you. I think it would work best on those with pretty good skin that just needs light coverage and I think it would be suited for all skin types as well. Maybe not so much for those with really oily skin since the coverage of this is so light. I've really been loving this as a summer time foundation.

The color looks too dark on my arm but it matches perfectly on my face. {I mentioned above how this coverage is very light, notice how you can still see my little vain in my wrist on the right?} I love how this foundation blends in with ease and the finish of this is a satin/matte. I still like to use a little transparent powder to set it.

Lasting time: about 4-5 hours
Coverage: Light
Best for: Most skin types except very oily
Overall: 4/5

Have you ever tried the Revlon Spa foundation?

In a Perfect World

In a Perfect World

This would be the condo I would live in in Ft. Lauderdale or West Palm Beach Florida. Penthouse of course.
This would be my ultra chic and modern living room
With a terrace and view of the ocean on one side like below (i'll take the cute doggies too)
And panoramic views of the city on the other side
My rooftop
 My elegant and ritzy bedroom
or maybe something like this, but I think I prefer the one above it. This can be the guest room lol
My amazing walk in closet that I could practically live in
A huge ass bathroom with his and her sinks
An elegant study/office area
A lexus LFA
A yatch that fits 8-10 people comfortably
And I though I would throw something in there for the hubby, so a red lambo would do nicely lol.

So all I have to do is either win the lottery or rob Fort Knox and I'm all set haha.

What would be your picks in a perfect world?

My (small) Perfume Collection

Burberry Brit, Ed Hardy (original fragrance?) Ellen Tracy Peony Rose, Giorgio G, Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean, Lancome Trezor, Dior J'adore
These are a bit strong smelling and definitely smell like something an older woman would wear so I almost never wear these unless I'm going on vacation and don't want to bring my large bottles w/ me.

[First let me say that I suck at describing scents so I will do my best on these.]

Burberry Brit: I love this perfume for year round wear. It smells clean and kinda ritzy if you know what I mean. It's very fresh, not woodsy or fruity in anyway and I think it would definitely appeal to most women. Scent lasts about 7 to 8 hours.

Ed Hardy Original: Definitely a sweet and fruity perfume. If you like Mariah Carey or brittney Spears sweet perfumes then I think you would love this. Perfect as a summer time day fragrance. Lasts about 2-3 hours.

Ellen Tracy Peony Rose:  I use the fragrance in the fall and winter and I think it works well as a day and night fragrance. The smell is kind of hard to describe, but it smells cool and brisk. I don't smell any rose notes to it, but there is a light floral hint to it. Scent lasts about 4-5 hours.

G by Giorgio: Also on the sweet/fruity side but not as much as Ed Hardy's fragrance. I always get compliments from men and women when I wear this one. It's hard to find in stores so I always have to order online. This is my second bottle of it and I really love it. Lasts about 2-3 hours

Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean: This is a strong smelling perfume so you definitely don't need more than 2 sprays. It smells fresh but mature and I don't notice any fruity notes at all. My mom loves the smell of this on me, but she said it doesn't react well on her and smells horrible. I've gotten a few compliments when I wear this, but I guess it's not something that would work well for everyone. I like using this frangrance in the fall and at night in the spring and summer. Lasts about 5-6 hours.

DKNY- Be Delicious
D&G - Light Blue

Jessica Simpson - Fancy
D&G - The One

What's your favorite perfume at the moment? Have you tried any of these?
