Purchases of the Week

I'm still in the process of getting some more tidbits for my room and a bracelet holder was definitely something I needed. A while back I saw someone used a paper towel holder as a bracelet holder so I got this silver one from Walmart for no more than $2 and it works perfectly.
This mask is supposed to brighten up your complexion, I thought I would give it a try.

Is it just me or does it seem that Secret deodorant sucks now? I don't know if they reformulated their product, but for the last 2 years every Secret deodorant I've tried just doesn't work well for me. My mom, who has used Secret since I was born, said that it doesn't work the same for her either. Anyway, I wanted to try this new one by Degree. Also, a lot of you may have noticed on blogs that Philosophy had makeup products at Big lots, I checked out 2 in my area and unfortunately the only thing they had was 1 color of cream blush, lip gloss and this one blush/bronzer that I managed to find after some digging. I also picked up an e.l.f eye shadow brush for $1. If you don't have this brush, get it! It's my favorite brush to apply shadow to my lid with now.
I also wanted to try some more F21 products since I've had a lot of luck with their polishes. I picked up these makeup remover wipes since they seem to be really moist and they were only $2.90 for 30 of them. I also picked up an eye shadow for $1.
When I was checking out, the girl at the counter said that the company that makes MAC shadows also makes the shadows that F21 sells. I don't know if that's true or not, but I was impressed with the quality of this shadow. I used a paint pot as a base and this shadow was pretty pigmented considering that it's a light color, it didn't crease on me and it lasted throughout my 8 hour work day. I definitely plan to pick up more colors.
Philosophy blush/bronzer duo. It's not as pigmented as I hoped it would be, but it's buildable so I can make it work.
I plan on coloring my hair this week with Revlon's soft black hair color. I always go with a soft black color b/c after a few washes it fades into the perfect chocolate brown.
This is my favorite thing I picked up from Big lots.
It's perfect for travel and the colors are extreamly pigmented.

Were any of you able to get some Philosophy stuff at Big lots? I hear Ellen Tracy stuff will be there too if it's not already. (Fyi, her Peony Rose perfume smells sooo good!)

Saturday Night Out

Some friends and I went out Saturday night. I wore this red dress which I got from Forever21. Can you believe it was only about $13? They had it in a royal blue color too, but they didn't have my size and the yellow one didn't look good on me. I love how it can be dressed up or down.

I have a drink in my hand for almost all the pictures lol. I'm pretty sure it's the same drink though, I'm a sipper haha

I love this pic of us.

What did you guys do this weekend?

New Polishes & NOTD

I picked up a few polishes over the weekend. The 2 crackle polishes are from Rue21 and the other is from Rite Aid. I've been looking for a coral-ish orange for the summer and this one fit the bill perfectly.

Besides the color, my absolute favorite thing about these polishes is the wide brush, I can completely cover a nail in 3 strokes and the color is nice and opaque. 2 coats is all you need, and really you could probably get away w/ one if you were pressed for time, but I always do 2. (From reading other blogs, the brush is a negative for some people. I guess it all depends on the size of your nail beds and personal preference.)
2 coats
1 coat of the WnW polish w/ white crackle. You can see a little chipping on my thumbnail. This pic was taken 2 days after I did my nails for reference.

Have you tried any of these polishes? WnW has a polish called I need a refresh-mint. It's gorgeous, but I haven't been able to find it yet.

~Mail of the week~

I love those freebie sites that allow you to get free samples and coupons. It's a great way to try things out before you buy. The site I use is http://www.shop4freebies.com/ These are the most recent ones I've recieved.
I'm most interested in trying these 3 products below.

These would be perfect to bring to work.

Do you use any freebie sites to try out new products? If so which one's do you use?

Friday Night Out

Friday night the hubs and some friends of mine checked out this new club, Eiffel Society, for International night. I was really expecting a "International" type vibe with dance music from different parts of the world. Nope, all that was played was Latin music, nothing's wrong w/ that, but just not what I expected. None the less, we had a great time and margaritas were free for the ladies.

My friend Lyndi got ready with me in my "new" room. It's so fun getting ready in there now that I redid it. It literally looked like a storage room before.
Before hitting Eiffel, we went to Superior Grill which was nearby for some margaritas and free chips and salsa.
Me and my babe
We didn't stay at Eiffel long, we just weren't feeling the vibe so we went to Jax after an hour. That was definitely more fun. If anyone comes to visit New Orleans I definitely recommend checking it out.
A friend of ours hooked us up w/ VIP. Thanks Christian!
I look tipsy in this pic, but we look so cute haha

Did everyone have a good Cinco De Mayo weekend? What did you do?

Room Redo - New Vanity/Closet Room

I finally got my room looking the way I want. For the most part the majority of what I wanted to do is done.

Before pic... just a bland colored wall.

This is the new wall color.

I actually redid this dresser, It was my husband's when he was little. I completely forgot to take a before pic, but the entire thing was a really ugly flat back. I sanded the entire thing (turns out there were like 3 different colors under that black). Sanding took about 2 hours, I had no idea it would take so long and it was honestly the worst part of the whole room makeover. Anyway, after sanding I painted the black in a high gloss, put 3 coats of primer on the shelves and then did 2 coats of white high gloss on them.

This dresser would look better with silver handles, but for now the gold will have to do

Crystal vase that I use to hold my sunglasses

I want to get a cushion for my chair
That basket on the floor currently holds my nail polishes, I'm not sure where to put it just yet

The wall paint is Behr - Manhattan Mist. The pictures don't really do the color justice, but it's a beautiful soft gray with a hint of lavender.

The total cost for paint and accessories came out to be $118.41
