Every Girl Needs a Little Chanel in Her Life

I finally decided I would make the splurge and buy myself something from Chanel. I definitely did not need another setting powder, but since it's something that I use everyday I figured it wouldn't go to waste.

Actually when you think about it, this Chanel powder is a better deal than the MAC Prep and Prime powder which I have too. The MAC powder is $24 for 8grams. The Chanel powder is $52 for 30. When you think about it, the MAC powder come out to $3 a gram and the Chanel is only $1.73 a gram!

I really love this powder. It's extremely finely milled and you just need the smallest amount to set your liquid foundation. It feels so light and soft, even softer and silkier than the MAC prep and prime loose powder. I got this one in #3 and I believe it goes up to #4, being the darkest. I've been using it for 2 weeks and I don't have any complaints. It does exactly what I want it to do and it looks so pretty sitting on my makeup desk. Even with daily use I think it will take me more than a year to finish it so it's a great deal for the money.

Have any of you tried this powder? What's your favorite setting powder?

New Pieces to Mix and Match

I needed to get some new basic clothes for work that I could mix and match with pieces I already have.

So I got this black boyfriend style blazer with pink lining. It works nicely with slacks or jeans.

This one is just all black and a little shorter

This cobalt blue blazer is probably my favorite. I get so many compliments on it every time I wear it.

This brown one is by Michael Kors.

This Khaki one gets a lot of use. It goes perfectly with everything.

I just got this one 2 days ago. Even though I mainly bought it for work to wear with slacks, I really think it looks best with jeans. For some reason when I tried it on with slacks it gave me too much of a lab coat feel. I guess cause in my last job I wore a lab coat for 3 years and it just reminds me of that.

I absolutely love this shirt from Target. The black collar and cuffs just make it look so much more modern.

The 2 above and 2 below are from Forever21. I just can't get enough of these tops. They look great with slacks or with skinny jeans. (You can't tell in the pic, but the color block black shirt above has black cuffs to match the collar)
I'm thinking of getting some square studs off of ebay to dress up the collar a bit on the black blouse.

The angle of these pics make all the pants look so wide and short lol. They are all a size 2 petite though. The ones above are Ann Taylor Loft

Michael Kors gray slacks. I got these on sale at Macy*s

I got these brown ones below at Dillards on sale as well. They are so soft and comfy, it almost feels like im wearing PJ's

Earrings at work have to be small. So I recently purchased a bunch of studs from F21. The glass heart I got from a thrifts store for $2 :)

What are some of your work essentials?

Shoe Haul!

On my way out the mall I was walking though Dillard's and I noticed they were having a huge shoe sale. 65% off plus take an additional 40% off! Well, 30 minutes later I walked out with 4 pairs of shoes for less than $75!

I love these champagne flats. They look great with jeans too. It's an easy way to dress up a casual look.

I don't own any red shoes so I thought these would be cute with brown pants.

These Gianni Bini shoes are seriously the most comfortable pair of flats I've ever worn. I love the little skull detail on them. They are going to get a lot of use at work.

My first pair of Sperry's. They are so comfy, I can't wait to wear them with shorts when the weather gets warmer.

Cruise - Jamaica, Grand Cayman & Cozumel

Sorry it's taken me so long to do this post. I've been pretty busy with getting back into my normal routine and work. Anyway, The cruise was amazing and we got really luck with the weather. It was sunny and perfect except for the last 2 days, but by that point I was so sunburned that I welcomed the overcast skys. So, without further delay, here are some pictures.

First meal on the cruise. The ship didn't even depart yet and the buffet was full lol
The Dungeon nightclub.
As usual it's overcast on our departure
Checking out what drink I want to have as we leave the port.

First formal night
Jamaica! It was so pretty there, but the way the people hassle you to buy stuff is rediculous.
Margarittaville. They had a slide, how cool is that!?

Ice show
Just a glimpse at some of the yummy food i ate.

First day at sea

Port in Jamaica
The beach was so gorgeous

Grand Cayman, these iguana's where everywhere. They were hanging out in bushes too.
Sting Ray city in Grand Cayman. Definitely my most favorite excursion and port of call!
The cheese filled shells were aaahhmazing!
My cake had stars on it :)

Port in Cozumel, this was my third time in Cozumel and the second time it's been cloudy and rainy :(

Second formal night, we had lobster

We hear Royal Caribbean is going to the Bahamas and Key West next year so that may be our next cruise.

Have any of you been cruising? What was your favorite port of call?
