Small Wet n' Wild Haul & Swatches.

Rite Aid was have 40% off all their Wet  n' Wild products over the weekend, so since I love Wet n' Wild cosmetics (and a good deal) I had to check it out. They definitely have come a long way from where they used to be a few years ago. Which was cheap, dull and chalky products. They are still cheap, but only as far as price goes b/c they've definitely stepped it up as far as pigmentation and quality goes. I especially love their matte shadows. I just wish they had a bigger color selection. Anyway, here's what I got. 

I picked up another Princess bronzer since I've already hit pan on my last one. The mega eyes pen liner; pen liner are starting to become my favorite liners, they are so easy to work with. I picked up 2 polishes and their Natural Wear pressed powder. 

 1st photo is Princess bronzer with the mineral powder on my middle finger, you can see the little shimmers in the bronzer in the swatch, but once it's on your face it's hardly noticeable. The 2nd photo is the wnw mineral powder on the left finger and MAC SF+ in NC35 on the other. They are pretty much identical, but the wnw is a little more powdery feeling than the SF+. The coverage is good though. 

This liner is amazing. It's super pigmented and dries quickly. I wore it to work today and so far it's been about 5 hours and I haven't had any transfer of this to my upper lids which happens quite a bit to me with most liners. I did notice that you can actually smudge this liner out a little bit too. I wish I would have taken a pic of that. After I took this pic above, I smudged it out with my finger so if you liked that smudged look than this can work for you as well. The polish I have on is the purple one. This is what it looks like with 2 coats. It does seem to chip easily, but I don't use a top or base coat (I really need to get that Seche Vite top coat that everyone raves about).

Recent Purchases & A Dupe

I was at K-mart the other day filling a Rx so I thought I would check out the Halloween makeup.  Of course I had to pick up a Style Watch magazine too, It's one of my favorite magazines to get the latest scoop on the trends of the season.

 I picked up this Fantasy Makers palette from Wet n' Wild thinking it would be similar to NYX's glitter palette. It wasn't :( This was was kind of dry, especially the top layer, when I pressed my finger in it a little more I noticed it was creamier, but the swatch of it was chunky and uneven and almost impossible to blend out evenly, kind of a waste of $3.99 if you ask me, but i'm still going to try again to make it work. The lashes aren't all that great either. They lashes kind of point downwards so it doesn't give my eyes a flattering shape and even if I curl them the curl won't last for more than 10 minutes (I've tried w/ similar styles). The glitter on the other hand was fabulous! 

The glitter is very fine and sparkly and I would even say it's a perfect dupe for MAC's 3D silver glitter. The best part is you get 5.4g for only $2.99! They also had this glitter in white, silver and red. I'm thinking about going back for the red one.

MAC Studio Fix + Dupe?

I was in the cosmetic section at the $1 store the other day just to see what they had when I came upon this LA Colors foundation in the color Tan. So I kinda opened it a little to swatch it, bad I know! Well, I was blown away at how pigmented and almost creamy feeling is was. It reminded me of my MAC Studio Fix powder foundation. I bought it and compared the two.

The LA Colors is a little darker than my NC35 Studio Fix, but that's a good thing b/c I feel like my NC35 is just a smidge too light for me now that Im starting to get a little darker. LA Colors describes their foundation as long lasting and silky smooth wear. I actually wore it today for about 7 hours and it still looked good by the time I got home.

As you can see, MAC's studio fix does not photograph well. It tends to give off a white cast in pictures. Good thing to keep in mind for flash photography.  The coverage of LA Colors is surprisingly really good and very similar to MSF so I would recommend it to those who are on a budget or need something in a pinch. The only thing I don't like about this are it's ingredients. Talc, Mica, Kaolin, Mineral Oil, Squalane and Propylparaben. If you have sensitive or acne prone skin then I would stay away from this. This isn't something I would wear on a daily bases either, but more for those lazy mondays when Im running late and just need to slap on some powder for work ^-^.

My Favorite Bronzer & MAC Iridescent Bronzer Dupe?

So with summer time right around the corner I thought I would have a post on bronzers. My absolute favorite all around bronzer is by MAC in Matte bronze

There are no sparkles or glitter in it so it looks very natural. It's also very pigmented so a little goes a long way. I like to apply it with a big fluffy brush all over, but you can also use it contour. I have NC35 skinton for reference.

For those who do like a bronzer with shine or sparkle then you can try the golden iridescent bronzer below.

I actually found an amazing dupe for this by Elf and it's only $1!!

It's pretty much the exact same thing in a pressed form. It's extreamly pigmented, you just need to lightly touch the brush to it and it picks up a good amount. you definitely don't want to swipe your brush in this because it will pick up way too much product. I love applying this really lightly over a pinkish matte blush to give me that sun kissed glow. I actually prefer this over the MAC irridescent bronzer!
