Mail of the Week

Here's some mail I got throughout the week. Shampoo and Conditioner samples from Garnier, Carefree fem products, eBay order of bling strands and my NYX Morocco replacement shadow from Cherry Culture. It took 2 weeks for the Shadow to come in =/.
I'm most excited about the bling strands and this NYX shadow which is gorgeous! The bling strands can be tied into the hair, but I tried that and it was really difficult plus it would slide out easily. I saw some YouTube vids where you can micro link them into your hair, also known as cold fusion. I purchased a kit off of eBay to do it so I'm just waiting for that to come in and I'll show you guys the results if I'm successful :)

Favorite polish at the moment

I've been wearing this Revlon Top Speed polish in Cloud  almost all month. It's a beautiful and perfect lavender shade. It goes on really nicely and 2 coats is all you need since it's pretty opaque. The only downside to this polish is that it chips easily, after about 2 days there will be some minor chips and at 4 days you'll need to remove it b/c it'll be pretty badly chipped at that point. I can deal with the chipping though since it's such a pretty color. It reminds me of Essie's Lilacisim.

Have you tried any of the Top Speed nail colors? Which is your favorite polish at the moment?

Weekend Buys

I wanted to get some cute colorful jewelery to wear with my bathing suits and this "Chanel" stuff was just the ticket. $4.99 for the bracelet and $2.99 for the earrings and braclet set. Also, I've really been making an investment in my health lately by loading up on vitamins. I really like the Vitafusion gummies and take a multi vitamin, omega3 and the vitamin D3 (shown above) in that brand. Since im in the sun a lot more now due to the summer time I figured I would pick up antioxadant formula vitamins as well. All in all Im starting to take about 5 different vitamins a day. A multi, vitD,  folic acid, antioxadant, vitC.

The carrot hair and body oil I bought for tanning. I know what your thinking. I bought all those vitamins to be healthy and then im tanning. Well, I usually never tan and Jason and I just purchased a small pool so I figured I would try to get a little color before our 4th of July weekend w/ friends in Biloxi. So, I purchased this oil because it's pretty much the same ingredients as the carrot tanning oil except this one has much higher amounts of the carrot oil and NO mineral oil. The carrot oil comes in at number 3 on the ingredient list whereas the tanning carrot oil comes in at 8 or 9. Carrot oil is healthy for the skin and is an antioxadant. Read below for more info on carrot oil:

In addition to carotenoids, Carrot Oil contains other powerful antioxidants such as tocopheryl, or vitamin E. Studies have shown that topical application of vitamin E may directly reduce many harmful effects of UVR, enhance skin immunity and help heal a sunburn.

Carrot Oil also acts as a natural tanning enhancer, producing a visibly golden tan in a short amount of time. The natural colour of Carrot Oil is deep gold and will appear so in solutions containing effective concentrations (between 2% to 10%). Either alone or when combined with other tanning enhancers, such as tyrosine or riboflavin, suncare products containing effective concentrations of Carrot Oil provide a noticeably golden, even tan without any unwanted orange colouration.

It must be noted that the beneficial effects of Carrot Oil may be diminished if placed in a mineral oil base. Mineral oil, commonly known as baby oil, is a petroleum derivative that decreases the absorption of and depletes the body's reserves of vitamins, especially vitamin E.8

Do you guys take viatmins? What kind do you take?

Saturday Night Out

Saturday night a bunch of us went out together for a few mutual friend's b-day parties. We started off with dinner and drinks at Copelands Cheesecake Bistro and then headed to the club to dance the night away.

Dress: Forever21, watch: NY&Co.
Wow, Jason and I were so drunk. Not exactly a good look for us lol.  He was drinking his crown and 7's and I was having Mexican margaritas and Alice in Wonderland shots =P

I think my hair has gotten to long to use a 1'' iron, I may need to step it up to a 1 1/4''.  I tried a 1 1/2'' in and I love the way it looks right when im done doing it but an hour later it falls and looks almost straight again.

What size iron do you guys use to curl your hair?

Cool Mint Lemonade Scrub - Review

I love using a scrub on my legs 1 to 2 times a week. I tend to have pretty dry skin so I find that using a scrub in the shower followed by a moisturizer really helps my skin stay smooth and prevents me from getting those little dry bumps on my legs.

The consistency of this is very different from any scrub I've ever tried; It was kind of a gel like paste and the smell of this was really strong and smelled exactly like the name implies. The salt grains in this is very fine so on initial application I didn't think it would do a good job at exfoliating. I usually like my scrubs to be really gritty and rough, I just feel like they do a better job that way. However, this scrub still did a good job at smoothing my skin with the finner grains.

The most interesting thing about this scrub is when you apply it you can definitely feel the fine salt grains but as you rub it in it completely disappears! There wasn't even the slightest bit of graininess on my legs. I was standing out of the water obviously so I know they didn't get rinsed off. The other thing I noticed was the cooling effect, kinda reminded me of bengay. It was tingly and I think if I had just shaved my legs it would have been TOO tingly and would have bothered me. Speaking of which, as you rub this stuff all over your legs, be careful to not get to close to your um......lady parts. I made the mistake of doing that and holy sh*t! It felt like what I would imagine Vicks vapor rub would feel like down there lol. NOT pleasant! It only lasted about 10 minutes or so, but it's something you might want to be aware of. When I got out of the shower my legs felt nice and moisturized and had a bit of a sheen to them. It felt like I didn't need any moisturizer so I skipped it. About 15 minutes later though my legs started to feel dry so I did need to apply lotion.

Overall I liked this scrub. I think it would be excellent for those who prefer a gentler version but still wants to get a good exfoliation out of their scrub. I would repurchase.

Have you guys tried this scrub? Which scrub is your favorite?

Shameless Plug

Hi babes, you may have noticed that I added pages to my blog about 2 weeks ago. Well I just updated my blog sale with the recent jewelery items I've made. Since I've really gotten into jewelery making I plan on making more pieces and updating it regularly so If you guys liked any of the stuff I've made check it out. There's also some makeup items and clip on hair extensions. I also plan on adding clothing to it too. Most of the stuff I wear to go to the club I only wear once or twice so everything would be in excellent condition.

Bacardi wants to know what ya waiting for? Go check it out! :)

Beauty Buys

I went to Walgreens the other day with the intention of only buying hair coloring and got distracted by the yellow clearance labels calling my name haha. Here's what I ended up buying. L'Oreal Prefrence in dark ash brown (ash is the best for neutralizing red and brassy tones), 3 Wet n' Wild  lipsticks and a nail polish .

This nail polish was pretty hard to photograph. It looks like it has a gray base with flashes of purple, green and blue. I haven't tried it yet, but when I do I will do a notd post and review.

You may have seen these first two lipsticks, 901b (pink) and 903c (peach), on every beauty blog recently. They are really pigmented and amazing quality for their price. I got these on clearance for $1.50 ea. The bright fuchsia color, 511b isn't something I would normally wear, but it was also on clearance and was only $.49! I bought it for fun to see if I could pull it off as I've seen a few girls in the blogging community do it fabulously. The verdict? I can't pull it off at all! Hello granny!

Unfortunately, The pink was a little too pink on me. The peach color was ok, a little drying but a little clear gloss over it solved that problem. Lipstick is something I just recently started to get interested in and I'm beginning to think I'm not a lipstick kind of girl. Maybe I should just stick to glosses, I always seem to have better luck with those.

Have you guys tried any of these products? What did you think of them?
