DIY Studded Jean Vest

I've been wanting to get a jean vest for a while now, but haven't been able to find the right one. I got this jean jaket from the thrift store a while back that I never wore so I figured it would be perfect to turn into a vest!

I really want to get back into making things. I used to make jewelery years ago and now that I'm working part time again I think I'm going to get back into it.

It was super easy to make. I just cut the sleeves off and used super glue gel to glue on the studs. I got the studs off of eBay for about $5 for 100 of them. The super glue gel works great on clothing cause the of the absorbency of the material.

After I cut the sleeves off, I went in a cut a little more off because I didn't want the shoulders to be so wide.

I paired it with a maxi dress when I went to run errands today and got a couple of compliments :)

Do you guys have any diy projects you've done recently?

DIY Glittered Candles

I had these cheap dollar store candles lying around so I thought I would fancy them up a little bit. All you need for this is some glue (i think any glue would work), some painters tape, a cheap paint brush, glitter of your choice and a candle.

I used fabric glue since that's all I had. The paint brush is from the dollar store and the glitter is from Michaels and walgreens (wet n wild brand from Halloween)
Section off the candle where you would like to apply the glitter
Apply the glue (didn't show that step) and then generously pour on the glitter. Do it over a paper plate so you can reuse what falls off. Tap it down a few times so the loose glitter comes off.
I made this one two toned.
This project was so fun and easy that I did 2 candles. The only thing I would have done differently is to apply the glitter higher up. I think I may go back in and do that for the one on the left.

I think I may get a few more candles and just go nuts with the glitter and make them stripped or maybe do glitter swirls on them, OOoh I may do glitter swirles on the one on the left! ~

Burberry London Blazer - An Amazing Thrift Store Find!!

So I was at my local thrift store dropping off clothes and decided to check out the blazers there. I couldn't believe my eyes that there was an authentic Burberry white linen blazer just sitting there. I did a quick google seach on my phone to see what their blazers retail for and the cheapest I found was $450.

Signature Burberry print plaid pipping on the inseam

Made in Italy and serial number on the tag

It is missing a button, but I figured you could replace it with the very top button on the jacket

Unfortunatly the jacket is a size 8 and I wear a 2 so I will be selling it on eBay, But if any of you like it out there feel free to make me an offer :)

I don't get it...

Somethings I don't get about the blog world. This isn't directed at anyone and these are only my own personal opinions from a years worth of observation on my blog as well as others.

"oh I love your blog!! want to follow each other?"
I get quite a bit of comments where ppl will tell me, "oh I love your blog!! want to follow each other?" I just don't get it. If you like it follow it, if not then no worries. I don't understand why I need to follow someone's blog just for them to follow me back. Maybe what bothers me about the whole thing is when the person adds, "I love your blog", I think if they just said, "want to follow each other?" I wouldn't have such an issue with it b/c then at least I would know their just looking to have a high GFC number.  I would hope that those who do follow me do so b/c they actually enjoy reading my posts and not because I follow them. Which by the way, if I'm following you it's because I enjoy reading your blog; and really, wouldn't you much prefer to have those kind of followers anyway instead of those that just follow for no other reason other than you following them? I guess to some it's a numbers game and that's fine too if you don't care if people actually read your blog or not, but to me I would rather have those that are genuinely interested. In fact, I would have to say about half of the bloggers I follow don't follow me back. And on some I'll comment on their posts but almost never receive a comment back and I'm ok w/ that, I don't follow them for their comments (although comments are great), I do so b/c I like their blog. Simple as that. However, I want to add that I think the percentage of those that follow others just to be followed back is small. Most bloggers put a lot of time and effort into their blog so I'm sure they would rather have the genuine followers anyway.

Blog link spamming
When someone comments on my blog, 99.9% of the time I will click their name regardless of wether or not they put a link to their blog. Also, when I was just starting out in blogging and looking for blogs to follow, I would just click on random people just because I liked the way their avatar pic looked or through other bloggers recommendations. Wether or not they had a link to their blog did not matter at all. So really, for those of you who will go on a bunch of different blogs and leave one word comments like, "nice!" and then a link to your blog, it's kinda aggravating and I'm sure I'm not the only one who see's it that way. I've seen some bloggers straight up post in their comments intro that if anyone leaves a link to their blog their comment will be removed. That's a bit harsh to me, but hey, it's their blog right? Even though I've only been blogging for a little over a year, I can only remember 1 or 2 times where I've left my blog link and even then I felt kinda silly doing so. I'm all for getting your blog out there and getting followers, but link spamming is not the way to go about it.

So, that's my little rant/outlook on that whole thing. I hope I don't lose any followers over my honesty. I definitely appreciate all of you who take the time to read my blog, it means a lot to me and for those that I follow, I may not comment on all your posts, but I definitely read almost all of them :)
