Simple Solution for Too Long Shirts

If you saw one of my recent posts, you might have seen that I was running into a situation about what to do with some of my shirts that are too long. I absolutely HATE tucking in my shirts. It's just so uncomfortable. A  follower of mine from BeautyBehaved told me I should do a "how to wear" post so I thought this would be perfect since I finally have a solution on how to wear too long tops.  Tie it in the front! Ta Daaa =D

This is one my my favorite shirts from F21, but I put off wearing it for so long because of its length (I didn't exactly think that through when I bought it lol). Easy fix though and it actually makes me look taller by tying it because I have a long torso...somehow it just works.
This one below is a before and after. See how long it is? it just doesn't look right for work, maybe if I had on jeans, but with slacks not so much; tying it solves the problem.
I was a little worried that my managers would think the look was too casual, but they actually complimented my outfit lol. Go figure :)
Pants: Moda International, Shoes: Gianni Bini, Blazer: Express, Tops: Forever21
I get hot at work from running around so much so updo's like this sock bun above or the messy knot in the first pic have been my go to hair looks. I plan on doing more of these outfit post in the near future.

I have an accessory haul coming up featuring some sunglasses and earnings that I recently purchased, along with some new items added to my etsy shop that I want to show you.

Review - Revlon Age Defying w/ DNA Advantage

What Revlon has to say: Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup combines makeup + powerful anti-aging skincare to help protect skin's DNA to fight the signs of aging. 96% of women saw flawless, younger-looking skin in two weeks. Lines and wrinkles are visibly diminished while skin is refreshed, hydrated, revitalized. SPF 20 ~ Revlon
This was originally my mom's makeup, but she gave it to me since she doesn't really like foundation in general.  I'm so glad she gave it to me because I love it. It's feels light and creamy but has medium coverage which is perfect for me. It also has SPF 20 which is great for day wear. I don't know how well it photographs though since I haven't worn it at night, but the high SPF makes me a bit leary to wear it at night if I know phots will be taken.

One of my favorite features of this makeup is that it has a pump. This makes it a lot easier to use and it's more economical because you don't waste any product. (I can't help but wonder if the pump fits the MAC studio fix bottle). I apply this foundation with my Sonia Kashuk Flat top brush and set it with MAC prep and Prime loose powder. I find that this lasts on me for about 6-8 hours, after that I noticed that it starts to break down a little around my T-zone since I'm oily there.

Lightly blended and half a pump below it

This comes in 8 shades and retails from $12.99 to $14.99. My shade is #15 Tender Beige which I think would be a good match for NC30 and skintones.  I have a lot of yellow undertones in my skin and I thought that this shaded blended in really well and was very easy to apply. I didn't notice any pink undertones in this shade, I would say it's more of a neutral so it evened out all the yellow. The finish of this is dewy/satin. Definitely not as dewy as Maybelline's Dream liquid Mousse, which I find to be too dewy and borderline oily. I really love the natural look this gives me, it looks like my skin but better. I think this foundation would work well for those with dry, combination and normal skin. It might be too moisturizing for oily skin.

This is after about 4 hours of wear

Overall I really like this foundation, I think it would work well in the summer and winter. I do feel that it's a bit pricey for a drugstore brand, but then again Revlon is a little more expensive than most drugstore brands.

What foundation do you current use?

Work Flow ~

Just a few shots on how I dress at work. I love flowy chiffon button down tops and black slacks from either Express or New York and Co. I love how they carry petite sizes

I've been wearing my hair in a messy top knot a lot lately. I'm always running around and super busy at work so this hair style works best for me.

Clothing Haul!

If you follow my blog, you've probably seen how I've been obsessed with chiffon shirts. Mainly the long sleeve ones, but now that the weather is warmer I've been obsessed with the sleeveless collared ones. These are the ones I've purchased within the last 2 months.

I am in LOVE with the amimal print and chevron printed one. The animal print one would look great with black skinnies or a pair of black slacks for work.

What I love about the chevron print one is that it works great tied in the front and worn with a pair of white shorts; paired with a pair of white skinnies or slacks and some gold accessories and it's perfect for work.

My favorite of the 3 is the stripped one. It looks kind of black in the photo, but really it's navy and white. The soft mint green one comes in at a close second and even though I love the bluish purple one, it's a little hard to wear becuse it's pretty long and dosen't look right tucked into a pair of slacks. I actually haven't worn it yet because I can't find the right bottoms to pair it with other than skinnies and it's too hot for those right now!

I don't know why the coloring on the close-ups are true to color and the further away ones have a yellow cast :(

Don't have a favorite out of these 4, they are great in their own way. The black one I only like to wear with jeans. The white one is too long to pair with shorts so again it works well with skinnies, the peplum top is the perfect Tiffany blue shade, but I've only worn it once because I feel like my torso is too long for it. The blush pink one pretty much looks great with everything. I've worn it with black shorts and black slacks.

It's T-shirt Tiiiiiime! - Pauly D

I had no intentions on going to see Pauly D that night, but a few friends who were going talked me into it. I used to love watching Jersey Shore (except the last season, it sucked and I didn't watch it). So I figured what the hell and we went. The event started for 9pm, but he didn't take the stage till 1am! WTF? I was aggravated, but thankfully we didn't actually show up till 12:00 b/c one of the clubs we frequent had customer appreciation night and there was an open bar. Sweeet!!

Aaaand then stuff like this happened, um yeah. I think I was either having a convo with my margarita or trying to strangle it lol

Emi and Liz are 2 girls I work with who "talked" me into going

Overall I had a great time, but mainly because of the company I was with. I really think Pauly D is famous because of his name, because there really wasn't anything special about his spinning skills. I didn't hear any new remixes or beats that I haven't already heard before. There are local DJ's who are much better in my opinion. It was fun just watching someone in person that I saw on tv though.

What do you guys think of Pauly D, ever been to one of his shows?

New Lippies & Swatches

I was in Walgreen's the other day when I decided that I needed some new lip products. I am definitely a lip balm and clear lip gloss girl all the way, but these products intrigued me.

I got Color Whisper by Maybelline in #25 Lust for Blush and Maybelline Baby Lips in #15 Cherry Me. They look like completely different colors in the tube, but actually are pretty similar in swatches.
The Color Whisper is just like a really tinted lip balm, it feels really moisturizing and gives just the right amount of color. It isn't long lasting though. Maybe about an hour or so which is about what I expected with both of these. The Baby Lips is the same but with a little less pigmentation. I don't know if I believe the claims that Baby Lips makes that your lips will improve over time with continued use. maybe I haven't used it long enough, but I don't see much of a difference in the health of my lips. I didn't purchase it for that reason anyway, I just wanted something that would keep my lips from looking dead lol.
The photo above shows the swatches in natural light. Color whisper is on top and baby lips on the bottom. They look pretty similar in the photos, but you can tell that the baby lips isn't quite as pigmented. Which is perfect for me because I don't think colors looks right on me.
This photo shows them in more direct sunlight, but indoors (obviously). If you look closely on the bottom swatch, you can see small shimmers in the baby lips balm. I don't like shimmer AT ALL in lipsticks and balms, but luckily this doesn't translate when you wear it on your lips. It just looks like natural color.

Does anyone have either of these? Can you recommend a good tinted lip balm or color? I heard Revlon has lip butters. I'm interested in trying those.
