August in Pictures

I've really been enjoying doing these month in pictures posts'. It's a good way to sum up what I've been up to and you know what I've learned from this one? Scroll to the bottom to see.

Jason and I along with another couple did a double date at Rembrandt
I found this cute little kitten in the parking lot at my work ^-^
Tokyo House was having a special that night and some things on their menu were half off. Jason and I definitely took advantage!
I forgot to take a pic of the finished product, but this was super easy to make. It's cream of mushroom chicken w/ rice.
I've been making a lot of green bean casserole lately. I'm pretty much obsessed with it.
I've been wearing this lipgloss a lot lately. It's by Neutrogena
We went to Outback for a late b-day dinner for Jason, I of course had to get my favorite drink. A roadhouse Roadie.
Chloe! she's so cute and sweet. She's my MIL's dog and if she ever got out I would totally steal her! I ♥ her
Me and my bestie taking a pic in the bathroom, classy lol
Hot mocha coffee and a good magazine...Wishing it was fall already.
Jason took me out to Stingrays restaurant insisting that they have the best calamari ever. Um, negative. It was so deep fried that there wasn't any taste of calamari left; and yes, all that food was for 2 people haha.

So what did I learn from this month in pics? I eat a lot lol

August Favorites

This is my first time posting my most used makeup of the month. I usually don't do these posts since I'm always wearing something different, but I've been feeling lazy lately and pretty much have been sticking to the following:

Face:
Almay foundation in Sable and set with BE mineral veil (my HG setting powder, it makes your skin look flawless), NYC peach mosaic blush w/ ELF golden bronzer on top.  I've said it many times, that ELF bronzer is gorgeous on tan skintones! I apply it lightly right over my blush and slightly onto the top of my cheekbones. Use a light hand b/c it's super pigmented.

Eyes:
Maybelline define a lash mascara, I love the brush on this. It lets you get super close to the base of lashes for maximum volume. MAC brun shadow used for my brows and Wet n' Wild Palette in Vanity. Neutrals are so easy to work w/ I've been wearing the creamy beige color all over my lid w/ the medium brown in the crease.

Lips:
Maybelline lip stain in In the buff w/ carmex gloss over it.

What have been your go to products this month?

Saturday afternoon; Coffee & some shopping

The weather down here has been around 100 degree everyday for the past week. Finally the humidity went down Saturday so it was somewhat bearable to leave the house. My mom and I decided to out for coffee and do some shopping. We went to Puccino's which is our favorite coffee shop (it blows Starbucks out the water if you ask me). I always get the same thing, an Iced mocha, delish!

After we got coffee we did a little shopping. I was in Macy's when I came across these bad boys.

I know I have a ton of sunglasses already under $20, but I figured everyone needs to have 1 pair of high end sunglasses in black right?. So why not splurge a little :)

What did you guys do over the weekend? Have you ever tried Puccino's coffee?

Thrift Store Find - Silver Perfume Tray

I've been watching those shows on the history channel lately where these people go to thrift stores and run down barns and houses looking for antiques or items that can be turned into furniture. So Jason and I decided to hit up the local thrift store to see if we could find anything worth while. I came across this really cool looking silver tray for only $8.95!

In the pic above you can see where I started to clean it

After a little cleaning with silver jewelry cleaner and an old toothbrush it looks pretty good. I might need to get a silver polishing cream to clean up more of the really tarnished areas.  I intend to use it either for my perfume or as a jewelry tray. I really want to check out a flea market sometime soon to see what I can find.

Do you guys ever check out thrift stores or flea markets for hidden gems?

It's a lime green kinda thing

It's been about a month since I hit the clubs so I was definitely ready to dance my ass off. I decided to wear my new shoes that night (the spiky black ones) which wasn't a great idea, but I got myself a pair of the Dr. Scholls gel inserts which was a total life saver (see bottom of post)

top: wet seal, skirt: F21
It looks like my blush is muddy and unblended in the lower left hand of this pic, but it's just a shadow.
lid: Wet n' Wild Brule, outer corner & slightly in the crease: MAC Brun, Mascara: L'oreal Extra Collegen, Liner: Prestige waterpoof in black, Brows: Filled in w/ Brun
My ♥
This guy use to play for the Saints. I believe he said he was #11
Face foundation: Maybelline super stay set w/ BE mineral veil, Cheeks: Revlon midnight affair (dc) w/ elf sunkissed bronzer on top. Lips: Maybelline lip stain in the buff w/ clear gloss on top

These inserts are a must have for sky high heels. I have these in every pair of heels I own. They sell them at Walmart and Walgreens. I payed about $10 for these, but Walgreens has their own brand of them for a few dollars less and they work just as well. They were all sold out of their brand so I got these.

Has anyone ever tried these inserts? Which ones do you recommend for the Ball of the foot? I'm always looking for the next best thing for my feet :P

Splurge Vs Steal - Spiked Louboutins

My friend called me over the weekend to go shoe shopping with her on Magazine St. One of our favorite shoe stores, Shoe Nami, was having a huge sale. The whole store was $19.99 or less!

So, on to the Spluge VS Steal. Many of us know and love the spiked Louboutins that Kim K, Lindsay Lohan and other celebs wear.
At $775.00, they are definitely a splurge.  Check out the shoes I found below at Shoe Nami!

I got these for only $19.99! I wanted the nude pair, but they didn't have any of those. I love slingbacks b/c they are the most comfortable heel for me to wear, and because pumps always slip off my heel. I have an all black pair of slingbacks from Jessica Simpson that I always wear so it will be nice to mix it up a bit with these.

What do you guys think?

Weekend Purchases - Makeup, Clothes, Etc

I'm completely obsessed with these Monster coffee energy drinks so when I saw them at Big Lots I bought all 17 of them lol.

My MAC Studio Fix Powder was running low and since I noticed it was starting to break me out I decided to try a new brand. A friend of mine swears why Merle Norman Cosmetics. So I brought in my almost empty MAC powder and they matched me to this one. After I use it for a week I'll do a review on it.
One shoulder top from Forever21
American Eagle are my favorite jeans and since they were having a sale of $29.99 on all jeans I bought 2 pairs. The first pair and the super low rise Artist faded flares and the second is the super low rise destroyed artist.

I also got a new belly ring

Review ~ Tresemme Freshstart Dry Shampoo

I have pretty thick hair that is mostly on the dry side so I usually only wash my hair every 3 to 4 days.  So when I'm in between washes I like to use a dry shampoo. I've tried the one by Big Sexy Hair and it really is amazing. If hairspray and dry shampoo has a baby together it would be the BSH dry shampoo! It gives your hair a ton of volume and smells great. So, being that the BSH was the only one I've tried, I had high hopes for Tresemme's dry shampoo and in short, I was not that impressed. It does smell great, but as far as getting rid of oily-ness  it does not work well. I get better results and more volume from just using a light dusting of baby powder. Tresemme actually works for immediate results, but within a few hours your hair will look oily again as if you didn't use anything at all.

Here is my hair unwashed for about 3-4 days
You have to give the can a good shake and spray the roots. Let it set for about 1-2 minutes till it turns white like this.

Then brush the product through. Sometimes I like to just use my fingers and rub it into my scalp. As you can see it does kind of dull the hair, which in turn makes it look cleaner. One thing to be aware of is if you use too much it will show up a little in flash photography. It won't look white, but your hair will look a little dull.
Here's the finished look after I fluffed it a bit with my fingers. It's not a bad product if you really just can't wash your hair and you need a quick fix. It definitely makes your hair smell good too. I really like to use this after a night at the club to get rid of that nasty cigarette smell.

So would I repurchase? Maybe. If I had a coupon or something I think I would;  if for nothing the long last fresh smell.

Have any of you tried this dry shampoo? Which brand would you recommend?
