No Fuss Hair - Waterfall Braid

I learned how to do a waterfall braid a few weeks ago and I've been loving the look lately. It looks like a somewhat complicated style, but it's super easy. These pictures are from my first attempt at the braid.

You basically start with 2 sections of hair, twist it back, grab another piece and put it over the one of the original 2 strands and then twist again to lock it in. That piece just hangs down and you repeat the process...Ok, my instructions sound really confusing lol. I'll include the video I watched so you can get a better idea.
I watched the video again after I did my hair and mine didn't look as good as hers. I noticed that she twisted her's down whereas I twisted mine up.

Video Instructions skip to 6:20 for the hair tut.

Thanksgiving Eve Outing

For Thanksgiving Eve Jason and a Friend of mine thought we would check out a new place, Carousel Piano Bar and Lounge. It isn't exactly new, but the last time I've been there was about 8 years ago and they recently renovated it so we thought it would be the perfect time to check it out. It's located right in the Monteleone Hotel in New Orleans which is said to be the most haunted hotel in the city.

Canal St. all done up for the Holidays

This bar used to be a carousel which they converted to it's present state.. It actually spins too, hence the name. It moves very slowly so you don't really feel it. In fact you don't even realized it turned until you notice that your facing in a different direction lol.

Did you notice my new phone? I really wanted a white one so Jason got me the Galaxy SII

I've been wearing my hair like this a lot lately. I just pull back the front pieces, grab the middle to poof it and bit and pin it. It only takes like 30 seconds and looks like you actually spent time on it.

Shirt and leggings- F21, Jacket- Hollister (thrifted), Bag-eBay

Did you guys do anything for Thanksgiving Eve? I hope everyone had a happy Holiday :)

Anime eyes - It's what happens when your bored

Sooo, I was extremely bored Wednesday since I had to have a procedure done on Thursday which involved being on a liquid diet the day before and not leaving the house, I'm sure you can guess the procedure =/. Anyway, I thought I would play with some makeup. I had watched a Youtube where this girl did an Anime Halloween look. She did an awesome job, way better than me. I have to admit I didn't try too hard at this look and I did both eyes within 10 minutes, which you can tell from the results lol. I wasn't even going to do a post, but I figured why not.

So yes, Anime eyes. It's what happens when your bored

My favorite setting powder

I've been using this Maybelline Instant Age Rewind powder for a while now. I love it as a setting powder and I would say it's comparable if not better than MAC's mineralize skinfinish natural. I apply it over my liquid foundation and you seriously can't even see my pores!

It looks a little chalky on my finger, but not at all on my face. I apply it with a big fluffy brush and it's absolute perfection. The only negative to this powder is that it's SPF25 so it does NOT photograph well.
Unfortunately, I tried this powder for the first time on a night out when a flash was going to be used forgetting that it contains an SPF. As you can see it leaves a serious white cast, but in person my face and body completely matched. I still love the powder, just for day time wear though or when I know I won't be taking any pictures with a flash. Notice how smooth and even my skin looks? It's almost as if the skin is blurred, it just looks flawless.

Have any of you tried this powder before? What's your favorite setting powder?

Weekend Recap

This past weekend was pretty eventful. I went to a Saints game and a festival. I'm a huge Saints fan and I'm  so glad we finally won.  It was starting to look pretty bleak for a while, we're 1 and 5 now, which still sucks but at least we don't look as pathetic.
They gave out pink ribbons to everyone in honor of breast cancer awareness month.

One day...

We all have aspirations or things we want to do, see or experience at some point in our lives; a bucket list of sorts. Even a list of goals of things you would like to accomplish at some point. I think it's important for people to have a list because if keeps them focused on things and helps them get to where they want to be in life. Besides, the journey of life is so much more fun when you have things that you look forward to or work towards. These are some of things things I would like to do and see.
